European Union (EU) data protection law regulates the transfer of EU customer personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes all EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. The EU Model Clauses are standardized contractual clauses used in agreements between service providers (such as Saltbox) and their customers to ensure that any personal data leaving the EEA will be transferred in compliance with EU data protection law and meet the requirements of the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC.

To govern the movement of data from the EU to the US, Wax LRS complied with both US-EU and US-Swiss Safe Harbour Frameworks. Following recent data privacy legislation updates in Europe, we urge all Wax LRS customers that may be storing personal information of EU citizens to contact us to discuss Safe Harbor, EU Model Clauses, and General Data Protection Regulations.

The EU Directive 95/46/EC sets out rules concerning processing of customer's personal data. As the data controller, customers appoint Saltbox as a data processor to process any personal data which may be included in the customer's content. In turn, customers are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents to include the content (including any personal data) in Wax LRS by Saltbox.

Saltbox has prepared an EU Model Clauses agreement for existing and new Wax LRS customers to facilitate the transfer of personal data outside of the EU in accordance with the EU data privacy laws. EU Model clauses are relevant to all customers sending personal information relating to EU citizens to Wax LRS.
